About WAHP

Built by physicians, for physicians who refuse to leave.

WAHP started with a simple observation: West Africa does not lack talented physicians. It lacks the infrastructure for them to practice well. We are a team of physicians and operators who saw this gap firsthand and decided to close it.

The Origin

Why we Started WAHP.

Jonathan Francois, MD did not start WAHP because he read a market report. He started it because he watched the system fail from the inside.

As a physician, he saw colleagues leave West Africa not because they wanted to, but because practicing there was structurally harder than it needed to be. The talent existed. The training existed. What did not exist was a place where a physician could walk in and practice at the level they were trained for without building the infrastructure themselves.

WAHP was founded to fill that gap. Not with another clinic. Not with another hospital. With a platform that gives physicians everything they need to stay and practice well.

The Vision

Where practicing in West Africa is a career advantage not a sacrifice.

WAHP's vision is a West Africa where physicians do not have to choose between staying home and practicing well. Where a doctor in Accra has access to the same quality of diagnostics, imaging, and operational infrastructure as a doctor in Atlanta.

Phase 1 launches in Accra with the first integrated hub. Phase 2 expands to Kumasi by Year 4. Phase 3 opens a third hub by Year 8. Each hub follows the same model, validates it further, and accelerates the next.

Long term, WAHP is building a regional healthcare infrastructure network — the operating system for independent physician practice across the region.

The Four Pillars

How the platform works.

The Problem page identified three infrastructure failures: fragmented care, delayed diagnostics, and operational friction. Each of WAHP's four pillars directly addresses one or more of those failures.

Chief Executive Officer

Jonathan Francois, MD

Physician. Founded WAHP to solve the infrastructure gap he experienced firsthand as a practicing doctor. Leads company strategy, fundraising, investor relations, and the overall vision for the platform.

Why Jonathan

He has lived on both sides of the brain drain equation. He understands why physicians leave and what infrastructure would make them stay. That firsthand clinical perspective drives every strategic decision at WAHP.

Chief Operating Officer

Emmanuel Adomfeh, MD MPH

Physician and public health specialist. Manages day-to-day operations, partnership development, and hub buildout planning. Bridges the gap between clinical needs and operational execution.

Why Emmanuel

Dual expertise in medicine and public health means he understands both the clinical environment physicians need and the systemic infrastructure required to deliver it at scale.

Chief Financial Officer

Elizabeth Aremu, MHA MPH

Course Instructor and Teaching Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Master in Clinical Service Operations. Oversees financial strategy, budgeting, investor reporting, and the economic modeling that underpins the platform's growth plan.

Why Elizabeth

She teaches at Harvard Medical School and brings deep expertise in clinical service operations. The financial model is built by someone who understands how healthcare organizations actually operate at an institutional level — not just how they look on a spreadsheet.

Medical Director

Nana Kwame Obuobi, MBBS MPH

Clinical leadership. Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, MPH 2026. Ensures medical standards, physician onboarding protocols, and quality of care across the platform. The person responsible for making sure the infrastructure actually serves physicians well.

Why Nana Kwame

Harvard-trained public health expertise combined with clinical experience. When a physician evaluates whether to practice at WAHP, the Medical Director's credentials are the first thing they assess. Nana Kwame's background gives physicians and investors confidence in the platform's clinical standards.

Lab Manager

Emmanuel Oppong

Laboratory operations. Manages diagnostic workflows, equipment procurement and maintenance, lab staff, and the quality assurance protocols that ensure reliable, same-day results.

Why Emmanuel

The diagnostic lab is one of WAHP's four pillars. Having a dedicated lab operations leader from day one signals that diagnostics is not an afterthought — it is core to the platform.

The Traction

Where we stand today.

WAHP is pre-seed. That means the platform has not launched yet. But it also means the foundational
work that determines whether a startup succeeds or fails has already been done.

The Values

Operating principles, not marketing slogans.

These are not aspirational statements on a wall. They are the operating
principlesthat shape how WAHP builds, hires, and makes decisions.

01

Physician-First Design

Every decision starts with the question: does this make the physician's practice better? If the answer is no, we do not build it. The platform exists to serve physicians, not the other way around.

02

Integration Over Isolation

Fragmented healthcare is the problem. Every system we build, every partnership we form, every tool we adopt must connect to the whole. Standalone solutions are not solutions at all.

03

Build to Replicate

Accra is not the destination. Every system, process, and operational decision is designed to work in the next city and the one after that. Scalability is a present constraint on every choice we make.

04

Radical Transparency

With physicians, with investors, with partners. We share the data, the challenges, and the progress honestly. Trust is the foundation of every relationship in healthcare. We earn it through transparency.
